I am a licensed speech-language pathologist with specialized training in stuttering, speech sound disorders, language development, and literacy. I work with children, teens, and adults who want to communicate more comfortably and confidently in everyday life.
My approach is strengths-based and collaborative. I support clients in reducing the struggle and frustration that can come with communication challenges while helping them build practical skills for real-life situations.
In addition to my clinical training, I am a certified coach. Coaching principles help guide my work in goal setting, reflection, and helping clients apply what they learn in therapy to their daily lives.
Every client and family is unique. Over the years I have developed a flexible, individualized approach that adapts to each person’s goals, strengths, and learning style.
Together we identify meaningful goals and measure progress along the way. Therapy focuses not only on improving communication skills, but also on building confidence and participation in everyday interactions.
Clients often describe my approach as compassionate, practical, and encouraging.
I work with children and adults experiencing:
My clinical work is especially focused on supporting people who stutter and helping them participate more fully in school, work, and social settings.
Specialized Training
I pursue ongoing education in evidence-based approaches that support both communication development and confidence in communication.
Training includes:
I am also a current candidate for board certification as a specialist in Stuttering, Cluttering, and Fluency Disorders.
My coaching training informs how I support clients, caregivers, and professionals. Coaching principles can be helpful when people are working toward meaningful change, navigating challenges, or building new communication habits.
In addition to speech therapy, I provide coaching support for caregivers and professionals who want structured guidance and reflection as they work toward their goals. I also teach speech language pathologists how to use coaching skills to improve client and student outcomes. I regularly offer tailored professional development for school-based speech language pathologists who want to implement current evidence-based practices when working with students who stutter.
Outside of the clinic, I value balance and connection. Spending time with my family and my silly dogs keeps me grounded. I enjoy trying new foods, playing games with friends, dancing, practicing yoga, and spending time outdoors in every season. Hiking and snowshoeing on Minnesota’s many trails is my favorite way to recharge.
My Philosophy
I believe communication is deeply connected to confidence, identity, and participation in life.

Angela came to The Talking Place in early 2025. After nearly twenty years wearing many hats at her alma mater, Angela brings her expertise in communication planning, IT projects, and serving students to our work and community building at The Talking Place. Her strategic behind-the-scenes efforts with our database, social media, and website make magic here every day.
When she’s not behind her computer screen, you’ll find her out on a hiking trail, baking something delicious, or volunteering in the community. She’s “that auntie” kids tell stories about, often getting into shenanigans with her many nieces and nephews and creating lifelong memories on their adventures together.
If you see her around The Talking Place, be sure to introduce yourself and ask any questions that you have. Angela loves a good puzzle and would be excited to find the info you’re looking for!
